After the success of the Portuguese natural stones network, we decided to create a similar project in Spain. In the Spanish market, we had a good access to products and suppliers, having all the conditions to repeat the success achieved in Portugal.
We currently have a main webportal and 10 informative websites about specific natural stones, which include marbles, granites, limestones and sandstones. In the near future, we expect to expand this network to up to 20 informative websites, which may include new materials such as slate or special stones.
The project
The portal - Spainaturalstones.com: Webportal about Spanish natural stones, which includes marbles, granites and sandstones. In the near future it will also include a directory of sandstones and limestones. The portal has information about Spanish natural stones, companies, news, articles and two new features: a natural stone events agenda and an online marketplace that is completely free for companies.

- Caprilimestone.com: a white coloured limestone.
- Crema-marfil.net: a beige coloured marble, one of the most famous Spanish marbles.
- Crema-valencia.com: a orange coloured marble.
- Dark-emperador.com: a dark brown coloured marble, another well-known Spanish marble.
- Negro-marquina.com: a black coloured marble, a well known Spanish marble.
- Rojo-alicante.com: a red coloured marble, a reference amongst red marbles.
- Rosa-porrino.com: a pink coloured granite.
The outcome
This network was published on the Internet on the beginning of 2010, with some of the websites still on development. Nonetheless, it has proved to be a quite promosing network. Most of the websites and portal already receive a large number of visitors and receive regular price requests from international clients. At this point, nearly 40% of the advertisement space is sold and we expect to reach the level of 90% until middle of 2011.
In terms of search engines visibility, the portal and some of the informative websites have already secured a 1st place in search engines as Google. The remaining websites are showing a growing positioning. Due to the unique content, project development, marketing strategy and overall network strenght, it will be only a matter of time to have all the Spain natural stone network organically on the 1st place on the major search engines as Google or Yahoo! We expect that during the year of 2011 that the Spain natural stone network will find a solid position as the online reference for information and business about Spanish natural stones.
